Almost one month ago, one startup agency specialized in Creative production was complaining about it’s failure in getting traction in social media. They were posting their content on Facebook, Twitter, and in some stores but no one was interested.
I reviewed their content and found that it was hight quality and different from another agencies or at least more creative though it is all self-effort.
I noticed that there was no Story behind their content, the photographer or the music producer created something, but sometimes me or you, as end customers, cannot see it. So I asked them to choose an event which they have attended and took photos & videos.
The team chose International Women’s Day celebrations and shared their photos and videos captured that day. Then I created a blog and asked them to write a post sharing that day writing and adding photos when needed.
Two days later we posted that post, and slowly they started to notice something new, it was not big, but at least they received some inquiries about covering some events. Some people even asked them about the price of their photos and videos because of it’s high quality.
Sometimes, considering a picture worth a 1000 words is not enough, Because their should be a story pushing that 1000 words. If you are a photographer, go start a blog sharing your experience with some photos with watermarks and links to your e-store account. If you are a music creator, go and find some suitable photos and videos, create a video and post it on Youtube to gain some new audience.
Remember, good marketing starts with good Story, that’s what Seth Godin taught us.
